The Poverty Reduction Through Social Entrepreneurship Coalition or PRESENT Coalition is an alliance of social enterprise practitioners, advocates, NGOs and members of the academia who have joined together to advance social entrepreneurship as an approach to poverty eradication and economic development.
The PRESENT Coalition was formed in 2012 as an alliance of various social enterprise practitioners, advocates, NGOS and members of the academe who have joined together to advance social entrepreneurship as an approach to poverty and economic development.
Its bases of unity and action are to:
Poverty Reduction Through Social Entrepreneurship (PRESENT) Bill: Enabling a vibrant social enterprise sector engaged in inclusive recovery and poverty reduction on a grand scale
The Poverty Reduction Through Social Entrepreneurship (PRESENT) Bill seeks recognition of social enterprises as partners of the government in inclusive poverty reduction and sustainable development. It provides for support programs, incentives, and a governing body intended to provide an enabling environment for SEs to grow, become sustainable, and scale up their impact.
A PRESENT Law is a critical measure that would broaden and scale up the impact of social enterprises as partners of government in inclusive recovery and poverty reduction on a grand scale.
A PRESENT Law shall institutionalize recognition and support for social enterprises as transformational partners of the poor and marginalized towards accelerating the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
