To mark International Women’s Day (IWD) 2024, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) held a virtual event titled, “Investing in Women’s Entrepreneurship in Agrifood Systems in Asia and the Pacific” last 11 March 2024 (Monday) from 10:00 am – 11:30 am Bangkok Time (11:00 am Beijing/Manila Time). ISEA President, Dr Marie Lisa Dacanay was one of the speaker-panelists of the said event.
International Women’s Day is a moment to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness about persistent challenges, reaffirm the commitment worldwide and call to action in accelerating efforts in the pursuit of gender equality. The theme for the IWD 2024 “Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress” emphasizes the need for greater economic inclusion for women and girls everywhere.
