
Last June 27, we had a Learning Exchange on Initiatives towards Enabling Policies and Ecosystem for Social Enterprises in Asia attended by more than 40 participants online. This learning event was organized by the Institute for Social Entrepreneurship in Asia (ISEA), the Poverty Reduction through Social Entrepreneurship (PRESENT) Coalition, and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation.
This learning event aimed to share the relevance, lessons learned, and impact of our conducted three major events coming from participants, resource persons, and co-organizers of: (1) the 11th Asia Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) Side Event on “Enabling Social Enterprises towards Innovative Solutions to Eradicate Poverty and Reinforce the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Asia Pacific” dated February 22, 2024 in Thailand [hybrid]; (2) the Social Enterprise Trade Fair in Senate in March 2024; and, (3) the Pasig City Mega Trade Fair and Social and Community Enterprise (SCE) Forum in May 2024.








The learning event’s speakers were: CAMP International Country Director, Ms Buyoung Cho; Nepal Development Initiative (NEDI) National Coordinator, Mr Arjun Bhattarai, Pasig City Local Government – Office of the City Mayor Representative, Ms Donalita Cruz; CEO/Founder of HeritageFinds, Ms Kathlyn Kissy Sumaylo-Pearlman of the PRESENT Coalition; and CEO/Co-Founder of Roots Collective, Mr Allister Chua of PRESENT Coalition.
ISEA President, Dr Marie Lisa Dacanay who also served as moderator thanked all the invited speakers and participants who joined virtually. Programme Officer of the Social Innovation Team (Asia and Middle East Program) of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, Dr. Dissa Syakina Ahdanisa delivered a Closing Remarks to formally end the event.
