The Institute for Social Entrepreneurship in Asia (ISEA) and Asia Pacific Regional Civil Society Engagement Mechanism (APR-CEM)-Social and Community Enterprise Constituency joined the Catalyst 2030 on its largest event, Catalysing Change Week 2022 (CCW2022) and hosted an online session on “Catalyzing Recovery of Social and Community Enterprises for Transformation (CRESCENT): A Global Initiative for Social Enterprise Recovery and Innovation” on May 10, 2022 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM CEST (8:00PM, GMT+8, Manila Time).
Attended by more than 70 participants, the event presented the initial concept note of the COVID-19 CRESCENT initiative and generated inputs from Catalyst 2030 members and partners on the setting up of its Working Group to pursue program development, resource mobilization and implementation.
ISEA President, Dr Marie Lisa Dacanay led the presentation with reactors Gaby Arenas (Catalyst 2030), Cecilia Foxworthy (Agora Partnerships) and Yame Nkgowe (Catalyst 2030). Angels of Impact CEO, Ms Laina Greene moderated the whole session.
The Catalyzing Recovery of Social and Community Enterprises for Transformation (CRESCENT) aims to set-up a global program and fund to assist social enterprises and their marginalized stakeholders to recover, to pivot and innovate towards building back fairer and to expand their coverage or create new ones in response to the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath.
