“Inclusive Loops: The Crucial Role of Social Enterprises in the Circular Economy” Report Launch in Asia-Pacific during an RTD in a hybrid format

“As business, government, and civil society recognize the urgency of moving away
from a linear model, the global transition to a circular economy is gaining momentum.”

Last April 30, we conducted a hybrid event on the Roundtable Discussion on the Crucial Role of Social Enterprises in the Circular Economy and the Asia-Pacific Launch of “Inclusive Loops: The Crucial Role of Social Enterprises in the Circular Economy” where face-to-face participants joined at Faber Hall, Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City, Philippines and online participants joined via Zoom. The said event was also live-streamed via Facebook Live.

The participants of the learning event were welcomed by a recorded video from Ruhimat Soerakoesoemah of UNESCAP Subregional Office for SouthEast Asia followed by an introduction of the activity delivered by the moderator, ISEA President, Dr Marie Lisa Dacanay.  The highlights of the Report were presented by Maxime Francois-Ferriere of TechnoServe.

The panelists were: Tommy Tjiptadjaja of Greenhope, Vitoon Panyakul of Green Net, Anna Meloto-Wilk of Gandang Kalikasan or Human Heart Nature, and Bianca Fernandes of  Hasiru Dala. After their presentations a panel of reactors provided their comments and inputs namely Voltaire Acosta of UNDP Philippines and Assunta Cuyegkeng of Ateneo Institute for Sustainability. Messages from Partners were delivered by Jens Andersson of IKEA Social Entrepreneurship, and Katerina Hoskova of Global Alliance for Social Entrepreneurship World Economic Forum.

The Inclusive Loops: Social Enterprises in the Circular Economy report from TechnoServe, IKEA Social Entrepreneurship, and the Global Alliance for Social Entrepreneurship draws on insights from more than social innovators, companies and ecosystem actors to highlight the opportunities for social enterprises to create positive impact for people and the planet through circular business approaches.
