APRCEM delegate and CSO Rep delivers the CSO collective statement at the 9th APFSD

The Asia Pacific Regional Civil Society Engagement Mechanism (APR-CEM) delegate and Civil Society Organization (CSO) representative, Mr. Gomer Padong of the Institute for Social Entrepreneurship in Asia (ISEA) delivered the CSO collective statement at the 9th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) 2022 last March 28, 2022. 

Gomer recommended that appropriate technology and community-based/oriented innovations be supported, adopted and mainstreamed, adding that the UN System must undertake in-depth assessments of new and emerging technologies including digital technologies to prevent adverse impacts on livelihoods, communities and culture, among others.

The APFSD convened for the ninth time as a multi-stakeholder intergovernmental forum for follow-up and review on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development last 28 to 31 March 2022. The theme of this year was “Building back better from COVID-19 while advancing the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda in Asia and the Pacific”.
