ISEA President tackles Social Enterprise in a business confab in Singapore

As a panelist on the Transformational Business Network Asia Conference 2016, ISEA President, Marie Lisa Dacanay shared the viability of social enterprise to strengthen economic power of poor communities and help them address poverty, last September 6 to 7, 2016 at the NTUC Centre Auditorium, Singapore. 

Dacanay presented the evolving benchmarks and metrics to measure impact of transformational partnerships from the Southeast Asian perspectives that include promotion of appropriate technology, positioning women and men small producers in agricultural value chain, paving the way for the empowerment of women and men small producers to become actors in their own development and that of their community and sector, providing transactional and transformational services among women and men small producers, and putting a premium on value chains and value chain development practices that increase the capacity of women to substantively raise household incomes, enhance their control over resources and decisions and improve their position in their households and community.

The conference with the theme, “Fighting Poverty through Enterprise” brought together business leaders and high-level stakeholders to discuss how to accelerate impact investment in Southeast Asia. 

The conference was organized by Transformational Business Network Asia (TBN Asia), an organization that focuses on using businesses with social impact to alleviate poverty in Southeast Asia based in Singapore.
