ISEA President shares Social Innovations for Post Pandemic Realities during UPLB DSDS-CHE’s ST e-TALKS webinar

In celebration of the Social Development Month, the University of the Philippines – Los Baños Department of Social Development Services (DSDS), College of Human Ecology (CHE) organized a webinar on “Social Enterprises (SE) and Social Innovations for Post Pandemic Realities” under its ST e-TALKS webinar series last November 29, 2021. Anchored by Social Development Month’s theme,“SAGLAYAG: Pagtimon sa Inobasyon, Pagharap sa Kasalukuyang Hamon”, the webinar’s main presentation was shared by its resource speaker, ISEA President Dr Marie Lisa Dacanay.

Dr Dhino B Geges, Chairperson of the DSDS welcomed the 100+ attendees followed by an introduction of the resource speaker led by DSDS-CHE Professor Dr. Emilia Visco. 

During Dr Dacanay’s presentation, she defined social innovation as “ the process of developing & deploying effective solutions to challenging & often systemic social & environmental issues in support of social progress” (Soule, Malhotra and Claver). She also shared some examples of SEs with their social innovations and the results of the Social Enterprise Action Research.

After the open forum, Assistant Professor, Marife Dapito closed the event.
