ISEA organizes an RTD on exploring SMEs as Catalysts for WEE in AVCs in Indonesia

A Roundtable Discussion (RTD) on “Exploring SMEs as Catalysts for Women’s Economic Empowerment in Agricultural Value Chains (WEE in AVCs)” was organized on July 25, 2019 at Park Regis Hotel, Jakarta, Indonesia which was participated by 11 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from Indonesia.  This RTD was co-organized by the Institute for Social Entrepreneurship in Asia (ISEA), Dompet Dhuafa Philanthropy, and Bina Swadaya Foundation.

Using a set of Benchmarks for Transformational Partnerships and WEE as a starting point, the roundtable presented a draft scorecard for SMEs and solicited feedback from the 11 SMEs by asking them to use the scorecard while providing valuable inputs based on their own experience and insights from their respective value chains. These inputs became instrumental in the finalization of the SME Scorecard.

This initiative is under the Gender Transformative and Responsible Agribusiness Investment in Southeast Asia (GRAISEA) programme supported by Oxfam and Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok, Thailand.
