ISEA attends ASEAN Responsible Business Forum

With its wide experience in social enterprise research and advocacy in the Philippines and in the Southeast Asian Region, ISEA was invited to participate in the ASEAN Responsible Business Forum last October 27 to 29, 2015 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. ISEA President, Marie Lisa Dacanay, was among the panelists during the High Level Panel Discussion on its second day, where diversity of business modes in the ASEAN were discussed. 

Attended by the more than 150 key stakeholders from both public and private sectors, and civil society organizations, the forum aimed to provide a regional platform for private and public sector leaders, practitioners, and stakeholders from around ASEAN to advance responsible business practices and partnerships to tackle the regional challenges, aligned with the vision of an inclusive, equitable and sustainable ASEAN Economic Community.

Other members of the panel include Alois Hofbauer, chair of Ethical Business Practices Committee of Federation of Malaysian Manufacturer and Managing Director and Regional Head of Nestle Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei,   YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Lim Wee Chai, chairman of Top Glove Corporation Berhad, Santi Wasanasiri, PTT Group Sustainability Alignment Committee (SAC) and vice president of Innovation and sustainability, Thai Oil Group, and Anjan Ghosh, regional director-corporate affairs, Asia-Pacific and Japan of Intel. 

The forum was organized by the ASEAN CSR Network, ASEAN Foundation, OXFAM, and the Government of Sweden.
