DA, ISEA sign a MOA on Social Agri-entrepreneurship

Last April 26, the Department of Agriculture and the ISEA signed a partnership agreement to promote social agri-entrepreneurship to farmers, youth, and other agriculture workers. Under the agreement, DA through the Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI) will allocate funds to support the programs and projects in relation to the promotion of agri-entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship.

Here’s the video of the signing ceremony with messages from Agriculture Secretary William D. Dar, ISEA President Marie Lisa M. Dacanay, Dr Rosana Mula of DA-ATI, and DA Undersecretary Leocadio Sebastian.

“The Department of Agriculture (DA) partnered with the Institute for Social Entrepreneurship in Asia (ISEA) to promote social agri-entrepreneurship to farmers, youth, and other agriculture workers. This strategy aims to address the stability of food supply and elevate the lives of farmers and fisherfolk through entrepreneurship that centers on social responsibility and moral obligation.

Via virtual signing ceremony on April 26, 2021, Agriculture Secretary William D. Dar and ISEA President Marie Lisa M. Dacanay sealed the partnership and signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).

Under the agreement, DA through the Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI) will allocate funds to support the programs and projects in relation to the promotion of agri-entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship.

DA-ATI will tap the expertise of ISEA in providing capacity-building and other initiatives to farmers and fishers, youth, and other agriculture workers, as well as in promoting innovation in agriculture and develop an agriculture value chain that is inclusive, equitable, resilient, and sustainable.

ISEA is a learning and action network set up by social enterprises and social enterprise resource institutions and scholars to catalyze knowledge creation, capacity development, and movement-building for social entrepreneurship in the region.”
