ISEA launches consultation series on ASEAN GTP WEE in AVCs

In the pursuit of relevant policies, investments, support programs, and incentives supporting the practice of transformational partnerships and WEE in the region, ISEA launches a series of consultations on the proposed ASEAN Guidelines on Transformational Partnerships and Women’s Economic Empowerment in Agricultural Value Chains (ASEAN GTP WEE in AVCs) with different stakeholders from February 2021 to March 2021. 

This started with a kick-off consultation with the Women’s Empowerment, Livelihoods and Food in Agricultural Value Chains (WE LIVE FOOD in AVCs) Platform Stakeholders on February 23, 3:00pm (GMT+8).  This was followed by the consultation with the Indonesian stakeholders on March 10, 10:30am (GMT+8), the Philippine stakeholders on March 18, 10:00am (GMT+8); and with the ASEAN stakeholders and GRAISEA partners on March 18, 3:00pm (GMT+8).  ASEAN representatives, the government representatives, the private sector, civil society organizations and GRAISEA partners participated in the series of consultations.

The consultations aimed to get perspectives, inputs and feedback from the different stakeholders on how the ASEAN GTP WEE in AVCs can be made relevant in enhancing the practice of transformational partnerships and women’s economic empowerment among AVC stakeholders and benefits women and men small producers. 

This series of consultations was implemented under ISEA’s project called Women’s Economic Empowerment Transformational Initiatives in Agricultural Value Chains (WEE TRAIN in AVCs), a component of the Gender Transformative and Responsible Agribusiness Investments in South East Asia (GRAISEA) Phase 2 supported by Oxfam and the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok.
