ISEA joins the World Fair Trade Day Celebration, campaigns to build back fairer

Last May 8, ISEA joined the celebration of the #WorldFairTradeDay2021 organized by the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO). ISEA President, Dr Marie Lisa Dacanay took part this year’s celebration by joining all the policy makers, partners, local authorities and social media influencers supporting the Fair Trade to BUILD BACK FAIRER.

As part of the celebration, one of the activities that WFTO organized is a webinar on “Build Back Fairer: International High-Level Public Policy Panel”. 

The webinar unpacked how to transform the economy and trade systems to ensure a just and sustainable recovery and explores what governments can do to rebuild following the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this webinar, Dr Dacanay was one of the panelists in which she shared the ASEAN Guidelines on Transformational Partnerships and Women’s Economic Empowerment in Agricultural Value Chains (ASEAN GTP WEE in AVCs) to the audience and co-panelists. Dr Dacanay was joined by Miho Shirotori, Acting Director of Division on International Trade and Commodities, UNCTAD; Louise Luttikholt, Executive Director of IFOAM-Organics International; Daniel Legarda, Vice Ministerof Ecuadorian Ministry of Foreign Trade; and Erinch Sahan, Chief Executive of World Fair Trade Organization in the panel. The activity was hosted by Sergi Corbalan, Executive Director of Fair Trade Advocacy Office.
